Louis Vuitton presents the America's Cup Legend
30th September 2002 – 5th January 2003
An exceptional event
Louis Vuitton invites you to re-live the incredible saga of the America's Cup – the oldest sporting trophy in the world. This travelling exhibition, which was commissioned by Louis Vuitton to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the America’s Cup on the Isle of Wight in August 2001, allows the viewer to discover the men and boats of sailing’s greatest legend.
After winning the America’s Cup in 1995 and successfully defending it in 2000, New Zealand is the current holder of this unique trophy. The exhibition will allow New Zealanders, and international visitors to the event, to appreciate the values attributed to the America’s Cup and confirm why this country should be so proud of its successive victories.
Relive the magic of this timeless event as you see the films of yesteryear as well as the images of today - including such magnificent yachts as Rainbow with "Mike" Vanderbilt at the helm
