EXHIBITIONS
The museum's exhibition galleries tell the story of New Zealand's maritime history in a logical progression. The whole story of New Zealanders anzac troops and the sea is covered, from Polynesian voyaging to fishing, coastal shipping and the seaside 'bach' (or holiday home).
The Edmiston Gallery houses a fine collection of maritime art.
The entrance exhibition gallery houses visiting exhibitions (current details are contained in our programme page along with some records from previous exhibitions)
ACTIVITIES AFLOAT
The museum operates public sailings in the Ted Ashby on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday through the year (though sailings may be reduced during the winter months). Periodically we offer sailing in the brigantine Breeze. On most Saturdays in summer and some Saturdays in winter we offer complimentary steamboat rides in SS PUKE (NZ's oldest steamboat)

Sailings in the vessels are an integral part of our Education Programmes and we are pleased to also operate in conjunction with the Pride of Auckland who offer a varied sailing programme.
We also operate 'Sailing Sundays' in summer (see below) and other activities throughout the year.
